چکیده

We present deep optical imaging observations of 2 square degree area, covered by the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS), made by the prime-focus camera (Supreme-Cam) on the 8.2 m Subaru Telescope. Observations were done in six broadband [B (4459.78), g0 (4723.18),V (5483.88), r 0 (6213.08), i0 (7640.88), z0 (8855.08)] and one narrowband (NB816) filters. A total of 10 galaxies were detected to i0 26:5 mag. These data, combined with observations at u and K-band are used to construct the photometric catalogs for the COSMOS, to measure their photometric redshifts, multiband spectral energy distributions, and stellar masses, and to identify high-redshift candidates. This catalog provides multi-wave band data for scientific analysis of the COSMOS survey. Subject headingg s: galaxies: evolution — galaxies: interactions

The Subaru Cosmos 20: Subaru Optical Imaging of the Hst Cosmos Field with 20 Filters*

We present both the observations and the data reduction procedures of the Subaru COSMOS 20 project that is an optical imaging survey of the HST COSMOS field, carried out by using Suprime-Cam on the Subaru Telescope with the following 20 optical filters: 6 broad-band (B, g, V , r, i, and z), 2 narrow-band (NB711 and NB816), and 12 intermediate-band filters (IA427, IA464, IA484, IA505, IA527, IA5...

COSMOS : Hubble Space Telescope Observations

The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) was initiated with an extensive allocation (590 orbits in Cycles 12-13) using the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) for high resolution imaging. Here we review the characteristics of the HST imaging with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) and parallel observations with NICMOS and WFPC2. A square field (1.8⊓⊔) has been imaged with single-orbit ACS I-F814W expos...

Photometric Properties of Lyα Emitters at Z ≈ 4.86 in the Cosmos 2 Square Degree Field

We present results of a survey for Lyα emitters at z ≈ 4.86 based on optical narrowband (λc = 7126Å, ∆λ = 73Å) and broadband (B, V , r, i, and z) observations of the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) field using Suprime-Cam on the Subaru Telescope. We find 79 LAE candidates at z ≈ 4.86 over a contiguous survey area of 1.83 deg, down to the Lyα line flux of 1.47×10ergs s cm. We obtain the Lyα lum...

Radio and Millimeter Observations of the COSMOS Field

The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) targets an equatorial two square degree field covering the full electromagnetic spectrum. Here we present first results from observations of the COSMOS field in the millimeter and centimeter regime done with the IRAM 30m/MAMBO array and NRAO’s Very Large Array (VLA) at 250GHz and 1.4GHz, respectively.

Search for Cosmic Strings in the COSMOS Survey

We search the COSMOS survey for pairs of galaxies consistent with the gravitational lensing signature of a cosmic string. The COSMOS survey imaged 1.64 square degrees using the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Our technique includes estimates of the efficiency for finding the lensed galaxy pair. We find no evidence for cosmic strings with a mass per uni...
